Remixes
This remix of Deqqat Assif Ou Aqellal recordings was created by wheatymeats, a Pianist, Producer, Artist and Content Creator at Remix ⟷ Culture from Yorktown Heights, New York.
Our collaboration with wheatymeats started when he began working for us as an intern in Brooklyn, NY during 2018. Through his experience working with Remix ⟷ Culture he was inspired to remix samples from Deqqat Assif Ou Aqellal, and partner with us to release this fair trade remix, which splits net proceeds evenly between all co-creators (wheatymeats, Deqqat Assif Ou Aqellal and Remix ⟷ Culture).
All net proceeds will be split evenly between the remix artist, the traditional musicians, and Remix ⟷ Culture. For just $1 you can get your hypnotic groove on and invest in a new fair trade ecosystem.

About wheatymeats
Michael Silverstein began learning piano and drawing at the age of six. Even as a young boy studying Classical music he found the rigidity contradictory to his strong impulses to improvise and experiment. This revelation led him to the world of Jazz. As time passed and his tastes expanded, he realized that he needed a drastic move in order to fully absorb what so many different cultures and musical traditions have to offer. He decided to study in Berlin, known for its vibrant electronic music scene and its rebellious experimental nature, and completed his Bachelors in Music Production and Sound Engineering at Catalyst Institute.
Upon returning to the States, he stumbled upon Remix ⟷ Culture by chance and knew instantly it was something really special; a way of bringing people together that he was always searching for. Not only has Remix ⟷ Culture been an absolute dream for him to be a part of and to contribute to, it has also helped him grow in unimaginable ways.
Michael is currently creating multimedia experiences combining his love for piano, painting, production, and sonic exploration.
