This October, Remix ⟷ Culture is proud to present the Tanfis II Palestine/Gaza Benefit Tour in partnership with Rebuilding Alliance, a Palestinian advocacy and humanitarian organization, and Bay Area producer Geter Done Productions.

As we continue to witness the ongoing decimation of Palestinian lives and culture in the daily media, there is a dire need to remind ourselves of our shared humanity and collectively grieve, sing, dance, listen, laugh, and feel empowered as a global community within a safe and inclusive communal space.

Tanfis, Arabic for "catharsis," signifies the journey of the nafs (self/soul) from the holding of breath to a liberating exhalation. The Tanfis II live experience is the result of a deep collaboration between Remix ⟷ Culture and 20 NY-based Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese, and Iraqi artists and is designed to guide audiences through a tanfis journey, helping to stitch together the fraying social fabric.

The tour aims to positively shift the cultural consciousness needed to break the cycle of fear and violence by uniting us through Levantine music, storytelling, and remix, as well as to fundraise for critical emergency relief for Palestinians in Gaza/Palestine. Through a masterful interplay between traditional and remixed music and storytelling, we will provide an uplifting, cathartic, and transformative journey that seeks to honor and dignify the humanity of Palestinians, and in so doing, deepen our sense of collective belonging.

Oct 12•Joshua Tree

We start our tour with a soft landing at the Joshua Tree Music Festival, where we will present an abridged version of the Tanfis II live experience. You can purchase a day pass to join us and several other musical acts who will grace the Joshua Tree stages on Saturday.

Oct 13•Los Angeles

Next stop, we will perform at the historic ALEX Theatre, with whom we are honored to partner to present the full 3-hour Tanfis II live experience in a breathtakingly gorgeous Art Deco venue, conveniently situated in the heart of Glendale.

Oct 15•San Francisco

We then make our way up north to the Bay Area for another presentation of the full 3-hr Tanfis II live experience at the iconic Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Our final stop on the tour will be at the legendary Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, birthplace of the Free Speech Movement, where we will once again present the full 3-hr Tanfis II live experience.
